Japanese Ball - Framed Vintage Artwork
The New York Public Library’s Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Division of Art, Prints, and Photographs collection includes 12,000 unique subjects. “Pacific Pursuits” is one of those categories, covering daily life in Japan, including the Kamakura period (1192-1333).
This vintage French postcard illustrates “a noble child, Kamakura period, wearing hanjiri and posed with gitchô stick.” Miriam and Ira’s postcard is dated 1900-1940, but this particular version is likely from the 1960s.
Custom walnut frame glazed with a slighly red tint, made in France set with a double, finely-textured, acid-free matting and anti-reflection plexiglass.
Frame dimensions: 10.75 × 10.25 × 0.5 inches
